Club Sports In Action

LCHC Homeschool Sports offers soccer and basketball opportunities for students in 7th grade and above to participate in the local private school league. Sixth graders may join practices to prepare for their 7th-grade year, building skills and confidence. In addition to our private club sports, we have connections to a Homeschool Jiu-Jitsu class that meets over the winter.

This Christian program encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and physical activity in a supportive community environment.

Current Sports

Soccer

Our co-ed soccer season kicks off with practices starting the second week of August. Practices are held at Abundant Life Community Church, providing a welcoming and convenient location for all participants. The season runs through the end of October, giving players plenty of time to develop their skills, enjoy team play, and compete in the local private school league.

Basketball practices begin in late October or early November, with the season continuing through early January. While the exact practice location is still being finalized, we are committed to securing a convenient space that supports skill-building and competitive play. This season offers students the chance to stay active during the colder months while fostering teamwork and sportsmanship.

Basketball

As interest grows, we hope to expand our offerings by adding more sports to the LCHC Sports program. This will depend on finding private leagues to join and the level of student participation. Our goal is to provide a variety of athletic opportunities that encourage physical activity, community involvement, and personal growth.

Future Sports

Jiu-Jitsu

Join us during the winter months for homeschool Jiu-jitsu for all ages. Taught by graduated homeschool students, this class will teach students self-defense and self-control while fulfilling the PE requirement in a fun, engaging way! Never heard of Jiu-jitsu? It’s defined as: an art of weaponless fighting employing holds and throws to subdue or disable an opponent. A friend calls it, “Ninja Wrestling”. It’s a sport that allows athletes to compete and train for a lifetime. Schedule TBA.

Why Our Sports Programming?

Build Skills and Confidence
Participating in soccer and basketball helps students develop athletic skills, boost self-confidence, and build discipline through regular practice and competition.

Encourage Teamwork and Sportsmanship
Students learn the value of working together, supporting their teammates, and demonstrating respect on and off the field or court.

Stay Active in a Supportive Community
Owl’s Sports fosters a welcoming environment where kids can stay physically active while connecting with peers who share their interests and values.

We believe that sports are about more than just the game—they’re about growth, connection, and building a foundation for success. Our program provides a positive, encouraging environment where students not only improve their athletic abilities but also learn important life skills that will serve them well on and off the field.

Prepare for Future Opportunities
Early involvement in team sports can open doors for scholarships, high school athletics, and lifelong healthy habits.
